Why Ectoplasm Uses Redemption
Redemption is a core feature of Ectoplasm, designed to enhance the value of $ECTOPLSM while reinforcing the sustainability of the protocol. After a designated staking period, you can redeem your tokens directly without engaging the open market, ensuring you always capture the true value of your holdings.
This system provides two critical benefits:
Bypassing sell taxes, so participants maximize their returns.
Deflationary strengthening of the treasury, since all $ECTOPLSM and $tECTOPLSM redeemed for $wBNB are permanently burned, reducing circulating supply and adding constant buy pressure.
Redemption Rates and Options
To give users flexibility in how they manage risk and rewards, the Ecto Staking system offers two distinct redemption paths:
Fixed Rate Redemption Calculated based on the most recent batch of bond prices. This rate is typically higher and provides stability, making it ideal for users who prefer predictable returns and less exposure to market volatility.
Real-Time Market Price Redemption Directly aligned with the current market price of $ECTOPLSM. This option carries more risk due to fluctuations but allows participants to capture immediate gains in favorable conditions.
Many users choose to diversify their approach, splitting between fixed and real-time redemptions depending on their strategy and risk tolerance.
Warm-Up Periods
$ECTOPLSM: A 3-day warm-up period applies before the first epochs of redemption become available. This secures and stabilizes the Vault.
$tECTOPLSM: No warm-up period applies, allowing for immediate redemption flexibility.
How Redemption Works
Select either $ECTOPLSM or $tECTOPLSM in the Ecto Staking (Shield) interface.
Choose your preferred redemption rate:
Fixed Rate: Redeem your tokens at a predetermined value.
Real-Time Market Price: Redeem based on the current $ECTOPLSM market price.
Redemptions unlock proportionally to your staked amount. Each epoch (~6 hours), approximately 3.57% of your deposit becomes available for redemption.
Redeemed tokens bypass all sell taxes and are 100% permanently burned, reinforcing scarcity and strengthening protocol sustainability.
The Deflationary Engine
Redemption ensures that every exit strengthens the protocol rather than weakening it. By tying redemptions to permanent burns, Ectoplasm transforms what is usually just a withdrawal into a deflationary flywheel.
The result is a system where:
Participants secure predictable or market-driven profits.
Treasury reserves continue to expand.
Token supply is continuously reduced, adding long-term value pressure to $ECTOPLSM.
