What Are Bonds?
The Bond system in Ectoplasm is a core mechanic for expanding the Vault and reinforcing the Redemption process. By purchasing $tECTOPLSM with assets such as $wBNB or $ECTOPLSM, users acquire tokens at a discounted price compared to the market.
This creates a win–win dynamic: participants gain access to discounted tokens, while the treasury grows stronger, securing long-term sustainability.
Why Bonds?
Bonds give you the opportunity to acquire $ECTOPLSM below market price. Because of their attractiveness, they are always offered in limited supply and during specific bonding periods. This ensures demand remains high while protecting the treasury from oversupply.
Example Walkthrough
Suppose $ECTOPLSM is trading at $500. With $1,000 USDC, you could normally buy 2 tokens on the market.
Through a bond, however, you might purchase $tECTOPLSM at $250 each. This would allow you to acquire 4 $tECTOPLSM with the same $1,000.
Over the next vesting period (5 days), these tokens gradually unlock. Once vested, you can either:
Convert them directly into $ECTOPLSM, or
Stake them in Ecto Staking to compound rewards while waiting for redemption.
How to Bond
Navigate to the Ectoplasm dApp and select the Bonds tab.
Review the bond terms: discount, vesting period, and maximum allocation.
Deposit your asset ($wBNB, $ECTOPLSM).
Receive $tECTOPLSM, which enters its vesting schedule.
Redeeming $tECTOPLSM
Once you've staked and vesting begins, a portion of your $tECTOPLSM becomes available to Redeem every epoch:
Fixed Rate Redemption → redeem at a predetermined rate.
Market Rate Redemption → redeem at the real-time price of $ECTOPLSM.
Each epoch (~6 hours), around 3.57% of your deposit becomes available for redemption.
Key points:
Redemptions bypass all sell taxes.
100% of redeemed tokens are permanently burned, adding deflationary pressure and reinforcing treasury strength.
Bonds + Redemption Synergy
The integration of Bonds and Redemption offers a wide range of strategies. You can bond at a discount, stake while vesting, and redeem gradually — all while contributing to the growth of the Ethereal Vault.
This combination ensures that every action benefits both the individual and the protocol, creating a sustainable flywheel of yield, growth, and scarcity.
